Who is eligible?
To be eligible for a scholarship, applicants must be citizens and living in one of the following Countries:
Who is involved?
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, ICE Agency and Uni-Italia are partners in the programme.
Thanks to the synergistic work of the partners, scholarships are offered to students interested in attending, for the academic year in question, a higher education course leading to a Master's degree or a Postgraduate degree at a university in Italy participating in the Project. Upon completion of the course, a compulsory internship must be undertaken at a company, trade association or firm, in a position that is consistent with each student's course of study and ambitions.
Some scholarships are offered by the universities themselves to attract the best talent interested in the specific educational offer of the university.
Requirements and Restrictions
Applications may only be submitted by those who meet the following requirements by the deadline for applications. No exceptions to the following requirements will be made:

Qualification
Only foreign students (as referred to in Art. 1 and Art. 2) who hold a qualification valid for enrolment in a Master's/Postgraduate degree course at the chosen institution are eligible for scholarships. Undergraduates are not eligible. Students who are currently studying at an Italian university and those who have obtained an Italian university qualification are not eligible to participate in the IYT Program. -
Application form
Only students who have submitted a pre-admission application to one of the IYT courses (Master's Degree or Postgraduate) included in the IYT program, in accordance with the procedures established by each university, are eligible for the scholarships. Please refer to the relevant university websites for further information. You may apply for only ONE course, with the exception of limited-enrolment courses, for which a second choice will automatically appear when you submit your application. Eligibility for the IYT scholarship is subject to admission by the university to the course chosen during the application process via the IYT platform. -
Age limits
Age limits vary depending on the edition in question. Please consult the current Call for Applications to find out the age limit for applicants. Candidates applying for scholarship renewal are not subject to this restriction. -
Language skills
Candidates must attach a certificate or attestation proving their English language skills, starting from level B2 of the Common European Framework of Reference. Candidates who have obtained a university degree in English may submit a certificate issued by their university attesting that English is the language of instruction at that university/course/faculty. This certificate may be accepted as proof of English language proficiency at level C1. Candidates are required to have a language certificate attesting to their knowledge of Italian or a declaration of commitment to study Italian before departure.

Required Documentation
The following documentation is required to submit an application:
- A certificate of the exams taken to obtain the qualification valid for enrolment in the Master's Degree/University Postgraduate Degree course (final transcript) including the degree mark (CGPA).
- If candidates have obtained their degree but do not yet have their diploma, they may apply provided that, in addition to their exam certificate, they also submit a certificate or statement from the university, on university letterhead, certifying that the student has completed the academic program and is only waiting for the degree certificate. Graduating students are not eligible to apply for the call.
- A certificate of English language proficiency [including Cambridge, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, ISE Digital – Trinity College, ISE Paper – Trinity College, PTE (Pearson Test of English), Linguaskill, ESOL, TOIEC (listening, reading, speaking, writing)], at level B2;
- A certificate of knowledge of the Italian language (issued by the institution where the training was undertaken) or a declaration of commitment to attend a classroom or self-study course in that language before departure;
- A video lasting no more than 59 seconds (preferably in Italian), in which the candidates explain their reasons for participating;
- Curriculum Vitae et Studiorum (maximum 1 page);
- Valid passport.
Documents must be in English, French or Spanish. If they are written in other languages, they must be translated into one of the aforementioned languages by an official translator. Both the original copy and the translation must be submitted.
Applications with incomplete documentation will not be considered eligible. Documents cannot be sent by e-mail. Multiple applications using different e-mail addresses (see Article 5.5) are strictly prohibited and will be rejected.
Universities involved
The following Italian Universities are involved with the IYT Program:
University Fees
Winners of scholarships offered by the IYT programme are exempt from paying enrolment fees and university contributions, except for the following amounts:
- regional tax for the Right to Education;
- stamp duty;
- any costs relating to accident and/or civil liability insurance;
- health insurance.
Selection Procedures
The examination and evaluation of the applications submitted will be carried out by the Technical Committee of the IYT Program, composed of all partners: Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation; ICE – Agency for the promotion abroad and internationalization of Italian companies; Uni-Italia.
Award Procedures
The scholarships, allocated in defined quotas for each country, will be awarded on the basis of a comparative evaluation of the applications submitted, in accordance with the requirements set out in Article 3 of the current Call for Applications.
The IYT Technical Committee will inform the successful candidates of the selection results by email to the email address used during registration by the summer, and in any case as soon as the list of selected students is available.
Payment methods, amounts, duration and effective date
The amount of the IYT scholarship is €10,800.00. Scholarships are valid for nine (9) months and begin on 1st October of the first academic year of reference.
The recipient of an IYT scholarship will receive a quarterly payment, which will be paid into an Italian bank account in his/her name in accordance with the procedures set out in Article 11 of the Call for Applications.
Upon arrival in Italy, the student will receive detailed information about the scholarship payment procedures.
The procedures for the payment of scholarships will begin at the end of the quarter. Payments will therefore be made after this period. The first instalment of the scholarship may be paid after enrolment at the chosen institution and submission of the required documents, in accordance with the necessary administrative procedures. The scholarship only covers attendance at courses in Italy.
It is not possible to participate in international mobility programs promoted by the University, nor to request to carry out a company internship abroad. It is not possible to carry out thesis research abroad.
Renewals
The IYT scholarship can be renewed for the continuation of the Master's Degree Course if certain requirements are met:
CRITERIA- achievement of 30 credits by 20th July of the first year of university enrolment;
- verification of regular attendance of the Italian language course offered by the University;
- presence of the Declaration relating to the internship at a company.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR RENEWAL APPLICATIONS
The following documents must be uploaded to the IYT platform when requested by the IYT team:
- University certificate of exams taken (CFU);
- Certificate of attendance for the Italian language course offered by universities;
- Declaration relating to the internship in the company (‘Internship Declaration’).
Medical Insurance
The scholarship recipient must independently arrange for health insurance to cover any expenses for illness and accidents in Italy.
Incompatibility
The IYT scholarship is incompatible with any other scholarship and/or financial aid provided by the Italian Government or Italian public organizations, including scholarships offered by Italian regions and the Erasmus program.
